dewsanddamps - welcome! good luck with the revisions.

I started brain farting my new PB story, got the intro down. For the first time in a long time my internal editor has left the building. Which means I actually get to play. Yeah! Let's hope it stays on vacation for the next few days, while I attempt to finish the draft. It's weird I can see so much stuff missing in the draft but I don't care, at least for now. If I am still seeing the same missing pieces by draft 5, I'm sure to be pulling my hair out. Hmm. I babbling. Time to get some sleep (how is there no smiley for sleeping??)

Happy Writing

Hi, Dewsanddamps! Glad you dropped in.

Darshana, you are absolutely right that there should be a smiley for sleeping. I'm so glad you're getting to play on the page. That's the best feeling ever.

So fun to see everyone here, including dewsanddamps, and I hope you'll be finishing sooner, rather than later :). Darshana, I wish my internal editor had left the building -- I love that expression!  :exactly
I have comments from my CP on some mss that I plan to send to my editor later, so I'll have my shoulder to the wheel, so to speak.  :writing3
Have a happy writing day, everyone!

Aloha,

There are sleep smileys! The code for this one  :zzz  is : zzz (with the space taken out).  And the code for this one  :zzzz  is : zzzz

And yay for missing internal editors.  :writing3  (Sometimes mine shuts up when I feed her ice cream.)  :EmoticonLickIceCream

Thanks dewsddamps! I have an off-topic question, is there any quick way to figure out all the "smileys" available and their codes? Scanning through the visuals is kind of hard. I scanned it twice last night but still missed the Zzz .
I like the idea of feeding the editor ice-cream.

Happy Writing!
I will be back tonight to work on my draft.

Crashing fast here. Not going to make it until midnight. Still, it was a good night's work. My new draft is officially longer than my old draft now,and I still have least two chapters left to go.

Going to :zzz for real now before I fall asleep on my laptop.

Yeah MVP! on getting some chapters done. Sorry I wan't there to keep you company. Sadly I was too tired to work last night, so instead I watched TV with the hubs. But I will be here during my lunch hour today and tonight as I have to turn in my story to my mentor by tomorrow.

Spent over an hour this morning comforting a little teething person who is now back to sleep. Those teeth refuse to follow my rule that they're only allowed to arrive during my office hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays.

I'd rather :zzz than write, but I think I'll write anyway.

MVP, congrats on the progress. Darshana, good luck with those revisions. And Dewsanddamps, thanks for the sleep smilies!

I'm here but just barely. I rarely drink Coke but I am tonight, hope it will help keep me going.

Good morning, all! I haven't' check in for a while, and it's not super early but hey, for a Saturday I'll take it.

Darshana, hope that Coke didn't keep you awake longer than you wanted. And Melissa, oh those teeth. Why do they take so long to come in? I remember getting my wisdom teeth and having such an urge to chew on things way back where they were coming in. That made me totally understand why babies cry when they have a whole mouthful appearing. MVP, congrats on the longer draft! And hi to Tori and dews!

Time to get some  :coffee3 and get to work.

Nope the Coke didn't keep me up later than needed. However I wasn't able to sleep-in on the flip side. Hubs suggested I take a shot of brandy before going to bed.
Yes I finished my first draft and I don't absolutely hate it. Maybe because I sent the editor packing. Now I need to catch up on critiques for others and then crank out a PB revision. That all will take a few days. Headed to San Francisco tomorrow for the day and then the Jelly Belly Factory on Monday. My girls are dying to go. Oh and then my parents are in a town for two days. Hmm Spring Break is not going to be as relaxing as I had hoped. Oh well.

Happy to see you back JFriday!
Melissa K - Hope your baby is feeling better.

Welcome Cynthia - early morning, late at night, lunch hour - anything goes but nothing consistently yet.

Doctor's appointment this morning! Half a sick day! Two hours of uninterrupted writing time in mid-morning when I'm not sleepy! 1,671 words completed. Man, I wish I could have a doctor's appointment once a week.  :typing

Happy Monday, y'all!

Awesome progress, MVP!

Darshana, I am now so curious about the jelly belly factory that it's going to take some effort not to Google it instead of writing during my lunch break today. Congrats on finishing that draft.

Cynthia, welcome! Hope you decide to join us--morning, night, whenever.

I missed a couple of mornings. I've been tired. Will try for tomorrow.

Thanks dewsddamps! I have an off-topic question, is there any quick way to figure out all the "smileys" available and their codes?

Sorry I missed your question, darshana. I've been in my revision cave.

No, you just have to look through for the smiley you want. The admins have grouped them as much as possible--so the food is mostly together, and so on. They put the most-used smileys on this first page (but if you click on [more] at the bottom of the smileys above, you get a whole second page).

There are some smileys I use frequently, and I just know the code-- like : hearts (with no space) is :hearts. Looks like you folks are learning :zzz  :yup

Hope everybody's getting some  :writing3 or  :paint done today. I'm waiting on an expert to approve a scene for me, and then need to read through one last time. This ms. required an enormous amount of research, and made my brain go spinny. :bewildered

Tori, how was the wedding? Hope you had some wonderful family time.

I don't usually get much writing done on weekends, but I was so close to the end of this draft, I couldn't wait. I stuck my kids in front of my ipad to buy myself some time. Maybe I was better at writing this weekend than at parenting. But I can't be sorry, because the draft is done!  :stars3 :stars3 :stars3 Now I get to spend the week cruising through it again, fixing smaller errors. I got through the first five chapters this morning.

Happy writing, everyone! Start your week off with some  :coffee3.

Congrats, MVP, on finishing the draft! What a great feeling! The kiddoes were not permanently harmed in any way shape or form.  ;)  The wedding was wonderful; thank you. :)

So glad you finished your draft, MVP! That's a great feeling. Tori, I'm glad you had a good time at that wedding, too.

I've been working for a while this morning but forgot to check in here. Just thought of it now. The baby isn't up yet, so I think I'll try for another bit of writing before I start my day.
