Good morning all from the west coast at 4:47.  No, I'm not totally crazy; I have an author visit this morning and have to leave here at 6:30, so I'm up and thought I'd check in with my fellow toilers.  :coffee3: :coffee3:  I finished the revision I was working on and still have more to do with it...but not this morning, I guess.
JFriday, you'll get that brain in gear, never fear.  Whoops -- that rhymes!
Happy writing, all!
Aloha,
Tori :palmtree

Good morning, all! A foggy, ghostly morning here in PA. Hoping to get a bit of writing in before I'm off to school.

Happy writing, everyone!

A a hot and steamy Houston good morning to you all! Revising synopsises this morning, then playing with the shiny new idea.

Foggy here too. Not steamy yet, but it's going to be an uncomfortable walk in another hour.

It's already 70 here at 6:20 in CA...triples today.  No walking, but a bike ride -- at least it's a self-created breeze. :)  I'll fiddle with revisions, and Vonna, what fun to have a shiny new idea!
Happy writing everyone!

Tori! I was up, I had the page open by 6:15 Central -- but must not have hit the Post button. So you weren't alone, even though it felt like it.

Good morning, all from a very late CA at 7:30!  AnneB, truly, I never feel alone, here -- I can hear everyone's keyboard's ghostly tapping sounds.  :writing3  Off today and tomorrow for a short babysitting jaunt (love those grandbabies!), but I'll be here in spirit. :)
Happy and productive writing, everyone!

6:30 AM Central (out-of-bed time, not current time). I've imported my ms into Scrivener and am now breaking it into scenes. I'm going to force myself to synopsize every scene so I can see how it fits in. Also, my timeline might still be a bit scrambled so I'm going back and add that in. As a result, I ought to be able to delay dealing with the revision letter for a couple more days (always a worthy goal...)

Scones in the oven, saving my tea for after they're finished. Some progress on Revision2, at least as far as figuring out how to break it into scenes via Scrivener.

I need to let everything settle for a while!
AnneB, I am impressed by your Scrivener use; all I need is one more technology to try and master -- aaaaack!
Happy writing to everyone!

It's the last day of school finals!   :bananadance :broccoli :carrot This was my son's first year of high school and the kid has worked his little tail off. But the partying starts tonight at someone else's house  :partytime Then tomorrow it's at my house  :ceilingdance :ceilingdance :ceilingdance, then the boy will probably sleep for a week--during which time, I hope to get plenty of early morning work done.

AnneB, I downloaded a trial of Scrivner about a month ago, but haven't had time to look at it. Maybe I'll get it figured out in the next week or so.

Almost time to pick up the boy, then I'm attempting to make gluten-free cookies for his party tomorrow. :cookie

Hi, Vonna, JFriday, Tori. Revision's still getting formatted for Scrivener. Every day I learn a bit more. Starting a new project in S is easy, but importing means you have to break it into chapters and I'm doing it scene by scene, so it's a little trickier.

But duh, maybe I should do it in chapters first, and THEN the scenes?

Vonna, I bought Scrivener for Dummies and it has helped a lot.

Good morning from another soon-to-be triple digit day, JRFriday, Vonna, and AnneB!  No writing today, but I needed my "cheery fix" from my fellow toilers!
Happy writing, all -- and parties, Scrivener battles, and coffee :coffee3 !

7 AM was a late start to the day; it took a long time to get to sleep even though I went to bed earlier than usual last night, probably because I didn't get enough exercise. I kept drifting off and then waking up at the slightest noise. However, I did get all of the ms. separated into chapters and scenes, and now I'm going back and doing one-sentence synopses of each scene and adding keywords.

Partly it's an excuse to keep from starting the actual revision, but partly it's skill-building as I force myself to go deeper into Scrivener. I have a third of another ms. written from scratch in that format, and I worked on a client's NF ms that way, but this is the first time I've used the split function for anything beyond the chapter level, or gotten into keywords.

Anne, congratulations on the progress with Scrivener! Hope you got a better night's sleep. I'm going to fit in some work before the day officially starts, which is later on a Saturday.

7:18 AM. Stayed up too late reading an adult mystery that I'm pretty sure I figured out in the first third of the book, but I enjoyed the setting and the characters so I stayed with it. It was my reward for wrangling with the revision. Of course, I'm paying for it this morning!  [Much later: forgot to press the Post button!]

It's a glorious June morning here, perfect for inspiration. I hope everyone has a great day! Anne, I totally relate to your reading late. I stayed up until almost midnight finishing A Countess Below Stairs, a great escape novel by Eva Ibbotson, and I'm going to pay for it today.

They've re-released her older novels as YA, but they don't read at all like a YA.

Getting a bit of a late start this morning, but between the  :rain and the  :flowers2 ,summer always brings on allergy fits. I can't type until I can see! Coffee helps.  :coffee3:

Good morning!

And I forgot to check in this a.m. as well, but I was up at 6:12 or something like that. More progress on the revision yesterday, in terms of doing a one-sentence summary of each scene and adding key words. Hoping to be more than halfway finished with it at the end of the day.

I've been up since 6:10, but had to reset the DSL modem after a storm last night. Wi-fi network's working fine now.
