I have used the word antsie in my WIP.  I am not sure an 11-12 yo would use this word to describe an adult who is a stranger they are watching who is "getting antsie."  I have brain freeze.

My character is a girl, but not sure that matters.   :groan

OK, I'm pressured into play Mister Correctzalot twice in one post.

1. It's antsy, not antsie
2. SPAZ is a reference to "spastic," and is about as sensitive as calling someone a retard.

Yours in grammar and manners,

Yeah, I'm with Kurtis on the use of spaz. It *is* a word that is on par with calling someone a retard. I know it's not as obvious, and, frankly, most people don't know where the term came from, but....still. It's a sensitive word choice that lots of people are trying to eliminate from our common usage....

I'd go with wiggin out, in whatever form you need.....

I never once in my life claimed I could spell.  My grades always dropped in my English class because of spelling mistakes (life before computers and definitely before spell check.  Spell check never worked.

I called myself a spaz, note I did not use it in my WIP.  Would not use it in my WIP.

So  call off the correctsalot oh wait that should be correctzalot police.  :cop2

Freaking out could work if my peeps don't like wigging out.

Jumpy also might work, I think hinky is too adult of a word, very police like... not sure most 11-12 year olds would know it unless closely associated with a police officer as in a parent, or close relative.
