THERE WAS AN OLD DRAGON WHO SWALLOWED A KNIGHT (Random House Children's 2015)

Great minds think alike? Or at the very least, glad to know I'm in good company! :0)

This may not be what you're looking for, but for short, witty, tongue-in-cheek stories try Fractured Fairy Tales from the original Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. Here's the link: http://www.brownielocks.com/beautyandthebeast.html

Thanks so much for posting those!  I loved them as a kid and I'm glad to see they're still available!

Rocky and Bullwinkle never gets old. Just out of curiosity, does anyone out there remember Crusader Rabbit?

Sorry, I guess that's a thread hijack.

CINDER EDNA by Ellen Jackson. (Very funny.)
THE TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS
SLEEPING UGLY by Jane Yolen
THE VERY SMART PEA AND THE PRINCESS TO BE by Mini Grey.

I would second these as well.
