Pea Shooting Problem

Discussion started on

I found a story that I'd to revise, the plot seems good and I want to take it to my next critique session. The problem is that there are characters like to spend their carrying out pranks, one of is pea-shooting. I know you can get pea shooters, but would children use them these days? Thanks.

When I was a kid, we used paintball guns.  And when we were in a particularly foul mood, you either put the paintball in the fridge, or load a gumball.  Also used blowguns.  Marshmallow guns are popular with my kids, and slingshots are still available, and still quite effective.

I'd agree with the marshmallow guns. They also make potato guns but those can deliver a wallop. Super soaker water guns are excellent for pranking. Kids also make little triangular paper footballs and shoot them out of rubber bands hooked between the thumb and forefinger.

NO PLACE TO FALL (Harper Teen, 2014)

Around here, people will shoot anything. Peas. Marshmallows. Potatoes. Corn.

"Airsoft" guns are super popular. (Plastic bb's)
