Hi folks, what are the best picture books about foxes? Fiction or non-fiction. Thanks for the help.

I love James and Edward Marshall's books about a character named Fox (who is a Fox). They are very funny- early readers. (Fox in Love, Fox on Wheels).

Carrie Pearson's A Warm Winter Tail is non-fiction. It's not entirely about a fox or foxes but might help you?

Dr Seuss' Fox in Sox?! There's an Eric Carle one too, with a fox.

Then of course there's Fantastic Mr Fox. Oh wait, that's not a picture book. Duh.

I can think of several with foxes as characters but not the main character, but then there are quite a few traditional stories with foxes? Foxy Loxy and Henny Penny? Isn't there a fox in the gingerbread man too?

This reminds me of a beautiful film I watched about a little girl and her friendship with a fox. It's on Netflix in the US. The Fox and the Child. If you get a chance, watch it. It's beautiful.

Melissa Wiley's new FOX AND CROW ARE NOT FRIENDS is really an easy reader, but it's super-cute.

BROWNIE GROUNDHOG AND THE FEBRUARY FOX by Susan Blackaby, illustrated by Carmen Segovia. The illustrations are beautiful. The story was actually written to go with some illustrations that were featured in the Bologna Children's Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition.

Well, ROSIE'S WALK isn't explicitly about foxes, but he's a great character there!

I like Tricky Fox, but my favorite ever is Four Famished Foxes and Fosdyke by Pamela Duncan Edwards. Fosdyke is hilarious!

THE FOX IN THE DARK by Alison Green is on our state list this year, so as a school librarian, I've read this to all of the primary grades in our school, and it's a definite favorite.
