I'm dummying up a story I wrote and am rendering some full color illustrations to keep my painting skills alive.

This one piece, I decided, would be a good fit for a promotional mailer as well. http://blog.cynthiajoycekremsner.com/2014/05/25/ahoy-sea-dog.aspx

Says the beautiful lady above me. And yes. So glad we have a long weekend coming up!

Your post was fun and interesting. I especially am in awe of the picture of all your work laid out in a mega page spread. Wow!

:bunny2 Blog Hopping commences. Cyndi Marko's post about her process was interesting .  . . and look at all those paintings! I've just posted the information on my process and will be handing the baton off to Karen Windness. http://brainrainblog.com/2014/08/29/authorillustrator-blog-hop-creative-process/

Just found this topic and realized that I've written five posts since it appeared that might be helpful to picture book illustrators (might be of interest to PB writers too):

I was interviewed earlier this year by SCBWI member Dionna Mann for her blog Color Me A Kidlit Writer. (I'm the second interview, so you'll have to scroll down a little.) I talk a bit about my illustration process, going between traditional drawing/inking and digital coloring. Could be interesting for anyone new to working digitally.

Awhile back I did a 365 Drawing Challenge (also known as a Daily Drawing Challenge), which I used as a way of developing a boy superhero character I've been developing. I got so much out of the experience,  that I decided to write an article to help encourage other illustrators to take up the challenge for themselves.

It's titled 5 Tips For Completing A 365 Drawing Challenge, and you can check it out here: http://scottdubar.com/tips/5-tips-for-completing-a-365-drawing-challenge/
