Here's my 4 year old's answer:

Favorite sound: our electric piano (first answer); the sound of a tummy rumbling (second answer)
Favorite smell: the gum I got for Easter
(note, she has not been allowed to chew gum up until now)

I asked my kindergarteners your questions today.  The kids enjoyed sharing their favorite smells and sounds and even asked, "Can we write about them?"  Music to my ears!   It made for a fun activity and we enjoyed sharing.

Enjoy!

Happy Writing!
Sue

What is your favorite smell?

Flowers
Turnips
Mom cooking Sloppy Joes
Daffodils
Roses
My brother’s cologne
My dog
Apple juice
Watermelon
Chocolate chip cookies
Candy
Brownies
Mom baking cookies
Corn
Hot dog
Apple pie
Sunflowers
Mom cooking fish
Scratch and sniff sticker (banana)
Pineapple
Gum
Grass
Strawberry pie

What is your favorite sound?

Chicks tweet  (we're studying chicks and all 24 chicks hatched!  They're sooooooooooo cute!)
Crickets
Jet
Fire engine
Cat meowing
Water in the fishtank
My cat purring
My video game
A bell
When my teacher is teaching   ::-)  (made my day!)
Cop car
Rooster
Fish jumping out of the pond
Music on the radio
Hot dog on the grill
Fire drill sound
Grandma and Grandpa’s dog
Birds – they make noises with their beak
My teacher (student pointed to me and said, “You!”)  ::-)
T-Rex roar
Wind
Birds singing
Zebra

This makes me want to be a kindergarten teacher! And the chicks! What will you do with them? I'm guessing some are male and some are female?

My kindergarteners LOVED writing about their favorite smells and sounds!  Thanks so much for inspiring a wonderful drawing and writing activity!  I think I may have quite a few future Blue Boarders in my class.  :bunnyrun

Kindergarten is SO much fun!  We had our chicks for 2 weeks - the farmer came to bring the eggs and incubators and we got to care for the eggs like Mommy Hens and watch them hatch. ::-) We took care of the chicks for a few days and the farmer came to take them back to the farm on Friday.  The expressions on the kids' faces when the chicks came running up to them was precious! The kids looked so cute holding the baby chicks!  Such fun!

Wow. That would have made me beyond excited as a kid. I don't really want to know what the farmer will do with them... just happy the kids got to enjoy the experience. Amazing.

Er, and apologies for the chick-based thread hijack! :chickendance :easterbasket :happyeaster
