Finished at 27,700 earlier this morning. Alas no sleep.  Will continue to pound away.   :aah

You must do the things you think you cannot do.  Eleanor Roosevelt

I wrote 1800 words in a story that was just for me today--just to remind myself that writing is fun. I'll return to my WIP on Monday.

Jonathan, my husband is a huge fan of comic books. It's cool to meet someone who actually writes them.

Only 800 words today, and I am too tired to write more. About the time I find myself misspelling one syllable words, I know it is time to go to bed.

I got 800 words yesterday. :yup (Earlier in the week, I was only putting in 500-700 words.)

I thought I'd shoot for 1,000 today, but so far I've had to struggle just to get to 200.  :P

I've had days like that G.R. About all you can do is keep slogging on. I got another 700 words in this evening. My nerves were too frazzled from this day and about all I could do was write. This new story is balm to my soul, but I don't know how publishable it will be. Have a good weekend everyone.

That's just what I did -- I ended up hitting 1,100 words last night, plus I finished the chapter I'd been working on. ::-)

I'm taking today (Sunday) off, but next week I hope to finish the first draft (I have one more chapter to go) of my WIP.

I wrote a little over 1000 words on my official WIP, but I ended up staying up till 1am to get them. I'll probably pay for it tomorrow. Congrats on being almost done G.R. That's such a wonderful feeling. Good luck on that last chapter.

Thanks, Michelle. :yup I'll need it -- Monday was kind of a false start, as I wrote 400 words only to end up deleting them all, and yesterday I only came up with 450 words. Just did another 170 this afternoon; I'll finish this chapter if it kills me! :laugh

1000+ words for me today. Feels good, it's been awhile! Not sure about the rest of the week, with the holiday tomorrow, but I'm glad I jumped back into my WIP:)  :chickendance

Well, G. R., I've been averaging about 500 words daily--on the days that I get to write at all--so I know how that feels. I'm getting into the most exciting part of my book. I wish I felt more excited.

I've made it to 2100 tonight between revising and adding in new sections. That brings my weekly count on the WIP to... 2100. Given that it's summer, I'll take it.

Way to go RaeE!

I think I've revised the same 3400 words three times, so I'm making an entry on this page, because I've definitely written (or rewritten) 1000 words in all of that. (I may have also deleted 500 words, but we're not being picky here.)

THE THREE RULES OF EVERYDAY MAGIC (Boyds Mills Press, Fall 2018)

I gave in and revised a few things to streamline the story before heading into the next section. Between the revisions and new material I think I have at least 1000 words.

Wednesday night -- 550+ words
Thursday -- about 1,000
Friday -- 900+, and my first draft is finished! (45,065 words total)

:congratulations G.R.! That must feel great to have it done!

I stayed up late and got in another 1100 words. I'm beginning to think this is how the summer is going to be. Spend the day with the kids then stay up late to get my writing done.

1,383 so far today. I haven't done over 1K since May. I got sidetracked with pbs and contests, which was fine. But it feels good to be adding on to that word count again. :star2

Thanks! It does. :yup I'll probably take the rest of the summer off, unless I get an urge to do some revisions on mine and my dad's "squirrel" PB series (5 books, 600-700 words each), or come up with anything else...

Even though I know the ending of one book and haven't finished it, I had the idea for a new book.  Not sleeping is doing something for my creative mind.  Wrote over 1,000 words...

Only managed about 800 words today. It's my fault--I let myself get distracted. Anyway, I can't stay up any longer. I wish lack of sleep would help my creative mind instead of just making me to tired to type.

1000 words and a chapter that feels like a race. *sigh*

THE THREE RULES OF EVERYDAY MAGIC (Boyds Mills Press, Fall 2018)

I got up early this morning and wrote 1700 words. The pace of the story is really picking up and it's getting fun to write again.
#20 - July 10, 2013, 07:51 AM

I wrote a thousand words, and even though this is my second round of revisions, feel like I somehow got to know my villain a little bit better tonight.

Another 1000 words today. I added another dimension to the story that is really working well, but I added late, so I'll have to go back during revisions and see about working it in earlier.

I squeaked out a thousand words... and watched the story take a turn I was not expecting. It should be a fun one, though! Hopefully this kind of fun:  :chickendance and not this one:  :duh.

Happy writing!

I got another 1000 words tonight, but I had to stay up for them. I'm trying to figure out why I always dither right before writing action scenes. It's like I feel this obsessive need to dot all my i's and cross all my t's before I let myself go on to the exciting parts. I always cut most of it out during revision, but I wish I could stop myself from writing it in the first place.
#24 - July 16, 2013, 10:06 PM

I wrote 1500 words today and got through the action scene except for the tail end. That's the point where everything starts to go wrong for my MC and I want to be more awake to write it. I wrote a lot of hesitation into the scene because I kept finding places where she might hesitate, so I dropped hesitation in as a place marker, figuring I'd decide which worked best during revisions.

I wrote another 1100 words. The end of the scene didn't quite go like I had planned, but I like it.

I'm in this club today :typing  I wrote 2000+ words this afternoon.  I may delete them tomorrow, but I will let them exist for tonight at least. ;D
#27 - July 19, 2013, 10:30 AM

Wow! 2000+! I am in awe. I managed to put in a little over a 1000 words today, including an unexpected scene that I quite like; however, the book is getting long. Some of these lovely little scenes will have to end up on the chopping block come revision time.
#28 - July 19, 2013, 05:23 PM

I am thirty words shy of 1000, but I have no more time to write today.
#29 - July 20, 2013, 01:51 PM

I wrote a thousand more words today, and I went back and rewrote the beginning now that the character's voice is more firmly in my mind. I know I should probably save that for revision, but the new beginning was right there in my mind.
