Responding to Admin emails (for newbies)

Discussion started on

Hello: I really hope I am not duplicating this topic but I tried searching and found the search a bit overwhleming. Either way I hope to have my question answered.

My confusion begins here: I received an email from a very helpful admin but I could not respond to her because of my newbie status? Is there a way for newbies to only message admin? Or at least respond. I did take time to read through all the rules (there is quiet a bit and they are very helpful- thank you for these) but I am unclear why a newbie can't respond to an admin in a private message?

Hi, Amber.  Yes, newbies don't have the ability to PM.  If you need to respond (or would simply like to), you can use the 'report to moderator' button down in the bottom right of your screen.  That will send your message along.  :)

Thank you,  I thought of this but didn't know if responding in this way could be annoying. I can be pro-active but sometimes there is a fine line between that and being annoying. But you never learn anything if you don't ask questions, right!

Thank you for your time in this! I'm going to continue and poke around some more!

Amber there is alo a report to admin/report to mod button directly on the PM. If you click this you can type a response and we'll also see the pm history. What reporting does is just sends us an email alert, it does not trigger any type of alarm, so no worries!

Ha ha! No worries Pinski! I was thrilled to get your private message and was going to respond but drove myself nuts looking for the responds button! I actually did mean mean post twice- if that was okay? But no big deal that it got deleted, it was just a parade of smilies and encouragement. I'm glad the first response was kept because it was much more informative than my encouraging parade.
