:new: We took our two year old grandson birding in New Orleans City Park this morning and used Sylvaine Sancton's lovely children's book, Some Birds, as our guide. The photographs are beautiful, and it was such fun to see egrets, a great blue heron, brown pelicans, sea gulls, and mallards in the bayou and then find their photographs in her book.

I'm jealous!
I'm currently reading Fevre Dream by George RR Martin, which is set in the New Orleans area. I'd love to see it some day, and the bird life.
