I know the whole point of the Tomie prompt is to help illustrators build their portfolio; do we have to wait before adding our 2015 submissions to our online portfolios?

Even though the SCBWI online gallery of submissions won't be made public until after the semifinalists are announced, you are allowed to post your submission on your website, facebook, really where ever you want. If we didn't want you to we'd say so in the guidelines. Once the semi-finalists are announced, they will be instructed not to make their final entries public until the winner is announced.
