Fortune Cookie Fortunes

Discussion started on

Do you have a favorite (or funny) fortune cookie fortune?

This may not sound like research, but it is for my WIP.  :yup :yup :yup

My all-time favorite (I kept it in my wallet for years) was:

"Keep on keeping on"

It's probably too archaic for any modern kid's lit, but I found it to be hilarious. Someone at the fortune factory has a sense of humor.

The best one we ever got (our family loves Chinese food and eats it a lot) was a hoot:

"Oops, wrong cookie."

I have a series of them, but they wouldn't be appropriate for a MG novel.

Here's one of them, which my then-boyfriend received, while he and I and my parents  and my brother were out to dinner. This was the second time he met my parents. We had known each other about three months.

"You will marry your present lover and be very happy."

He showed it to me, we laughed, and we wouldn't show it to my parents.

We later did get married and we've been happy for 21 years!  :love5:

Most people get predictions. I get exhortations, including this one just last night: Act as if it were impossible to fail.
No :rainbow or  :fairywand: in my future, apparently, just me and my :bangcomputer.
