There is an author from Indiana, whom I met at a book fair once, named John David Anderson.  (The author, not the fair.)  The MG fantasy he wrote, "Sidekicked", reads like a spin-off of the movie "The Incredibles."  Don't get me wrong, he doesn't steal ideas from the movie, or anything.  It's just that his book has the same feel.  If you enjoyed that Pixar film, you or your kids, would probably like "Sidekicked."  (And, no, he isn't paying me to say this.  ::-)

I just finished the sequel, "Minion," and loved it just as much.

"Sidekicked" is about a super hero's sidekick, whose super has gone missing, and he has to deal with the bad guys himself.

"Minion" is about a young boy who is the minion to an evil genius, (actually, his adopted son), and isn't sure which side of good or evil he's on.

My 6th grade daughter read "Sidekicked" last year and loved it.

Thanks for the recommendation for "Minion." She says it sounds really good and we are going to look for it tomorrow.
