Does anybody know of any free online book discussion groups (chatboards, whatever) for kids? This is for an eleven-year-old. Thought it would be easy but no luck so far!

Sorry, I don't know of any--although it's a terrific idea. But you might be able to find a live one at your library.

Anything on-line for minors gets sticky because of the various laws designed to protect kids from on-line stalkers, so there are issues of parental permission/supervision and stuff. It's part of why Verla decided to close down the Young Writer area we had here for a while.
