Does your school or your kids' school use the term timetable?

Thanks!

For what? I've heard both "times table" and "multiplication table" but never "time table." That sounds like a scheduling thing to me--and maybe that's what you mean. (If so--no, I've never heard it.)

I'm in the upper Midwest.

Thanks, Dews.

Yes, it's the schedule of your classes.

I thought it was a universal thing, but I've since learned it may not be used in the US.

I suspect The Rabbit Ate My Schedule would work just fine (also Upper Midwest), especially if the cover art showed an age-appropriate class schedule. I've read a couple MG books lately that involved kids worrying about their class schedules, including, IIRC, the reboot of the Princess Diaries series.

Thanks, Anne.

Not sure I like schedule. It's kind of a stuffy word. LOL

I'll probably just try to find another word.

Yeah, "timetable" is like the grid that shows when buses and trains arrive and depart; "schedule" is what students look at to see when their classes are.

Timetable here means "Train/bus schedule".  Definitely confusing to use it at school.

I'd still go with "Hall Pass", except I don't know if schools still use them.

Okay, that's kind of funny. We call that a bus schedule. LOL

Eric, that's what I decided to go with: The Rabbit Ate My Hall Pass

Thanks!

 :thankyou

Most kids here just say pass. All passes get you into the hall, so hall pass is redundant. It may be a Library Pass, Bathroom Pass, or Computer Pass, denoting where the pass allows you to go. Pass is the generic term.

Schedule, yes. Timetable, no. Timetable sounds old fashioned to my ear. It's use is very specific, train and bus schedules, hard copies.

I thought I was back at my old convent school for a moment, Rue, but modern American readers would get mixed up and I agree schedule is a stuffy word.

The Rabbit Ate My Hall Pass has a great rhythm to it just like The Rabbit Ate My Timetable.

Your bunny is going to have so much fun at school causing all kinds of trouble :bunnyshake

Boy, you don't take many breaks between books, do you? Happy :writing3

Thanks, guys!

Vijaya, I'm actually not planning to start writing this one until the fall, but the ideas are flowing, so I'm just running with it for now. Having fun dreaming up ideas and making notes! ;)

My poor MC, the bunnies just won't give him a break.  :bunny2

Thanks!
