Hello lovers of young minds,
My book ms Star Stories and More is about naked-eye stargazing and astronomy and meant for older teens. Besides time spent, under the stars, with the guidance of the book, additional time can be spent indoors reading, at leisure, about more in depth or other topics related to a star tour.

The additional topics follow each star tour and are in sections subtitled, More to read about:[name of topic] e.g. More to read about: nature playing tricks.

I would very much appreciate your ideas for a catchier subtitle, something appealing to my intended readers.

I would also be glad to reciprocate the favor.

Many thanks,
Spence

THE NAKED STARS: adventures in the night

:) okay, maybe not. But it would sell to teens! (I do hope somebody has some better ideas, though)

Well, I'm good with the book's title, although I understand the publisher has final say. It's that subtitle I need suggestions for a better name.

what is your current subtitle, and feeling do you want it to convey?

Hi Aunty,
It's "More to read about" :[name of topic] For example: "More to read about": nature playing tricks.

Simply saying "More to read about" seems lame to me. Oh hum, another chore to do.

A feeling of unbounded--ok, pleasant--anticipation would be nice.

Haha--I love Aunty's idea, combined with yours. STAR STORIES: THE NAKED STAR

Instead of "More to read about," perhaps a night image such as "Spotlight" or "Spotlight on."
Spotlight on reading/leisure/tricks of nature. Or: Spotlight: reading, etc.

A gazing related word would also work: "Focus," and the illustrator could use a small telescope as a sort of bullet point symbol.

Or "Stellar," such as Stellar Idea: Additional reading, etc.

Auntie,
Thinking about your, The Naked Stars: An Adventure in the Night. You gave me ideas for future not-for-kids book titles.
Swimming Naked in the Milky Way
Naked Navigation under the North Star
Naked Stars are so Hot

Hmmm, that last one might help me understand my attraction to the night sky.

Hi Butterflygirl,
Spotlight on or focus on is perfect. I owe you.

Thanks so much

You're very welcome! Nothing owed, glad to help.  :)

The title keeps percolating. Perhaps: STAR STORIES: THE NAKED EYE SKY

Butterflygirl,
I was in the kitchen, making batches of pumpkin pancakes for the family. Somehow--can't remember how--it became my job to do.

I'll have to think hard on that last book title. Could be the one or very similar. But one appealing to both sexes.

Nothing owed, maybe, but will return the favors if ever needed.

What about something with a play on words? "Seeing Stars" or "No telescope needed" or some kind of combination of both? I'll play around with it more and see if something else strikes me, but that was the first thought that came to me.

Good luck, Spence! Sounds like a fun project.

Butterfly girl,
Thanks for such encouraging words. Makes it worth all the effort.
If I'm so fortunate, as to get published--first time for me--I'll gladly send a few gift books to all who inspired me here.

Email me if you would like the complete ms for personal use. It's not yet illustrated, but I tried to make the text descriptive. A bit of Googling would get you some good images.
