I was checking the Fun for Kidz website and saw this:

http://funforkidzmagazines.com/hopscotch-boysquest/

Hopscotch, Boy's Quest and Fun for Kidz are merging into one magazine according to their website.

Interesting. I wonder what themes they will be using? Didn't they already have a lot of content selected for 2016?

Yes, they had a number of 2016 themes listed for Hopscotch and Boy's Quest. Now, the website only shows the Fun for Kidz themes. Maybe they plan to use some of the Hopscotch/BQ themes for Fun for Kidz later?

They were already mixing, revamping, and rescheduling a lot of the themes they'd previously had listed. True this past year especially.

Wow- I had checked their website just the other day. And I gave Hopscotch to my granddaughter as a Christmas gift. Wonder how quick this will happen?

Wow!  Thanks for sharing. I also noticed they were switching some themes around and rescheduling some pieces. I hope anyone who is waiting on a theme sees their work in the new magazine. It's great they will accept work from their readers now.

Thanks for posting this, Starfish.

I'm confused now. I had an article scheduled for November 2016 BOYS' QUEST. Then I got an email at the end of December, telling me they were rescheduling it to February's "Ready, Set, Go!" issue of BQ. But that's not listed at all on the upcoming themes list--there's not even a February issue. Maybe I'll email and ask...

That is confusing. Maybe the changes take place after that issue since you just heard from them? I hope you get some good news, Sara.

And I wonder how the writer guidelines will change. So far, they look the same for FFK.

Uh oh. I have an article under contract for the October 2016 issue of Boy's Quest. I will probably need to send an email, too. Hmm. .. . .

Sara, congrats on your article! When I was exchanging emails with DW in December, they were definitely still planning to publish the February Boys' Quest with the theme "Ready, Set, Go!" So I think your article is good to go, if they told you it was being switched to that issue.

They don't keep the themes still posted, if they no longer need material for them.

Thanks for the update. I think I received an email from them last month or two to tell me that they would like to receive queries and not articles. Good luck for all the folks who have acceptances!

I had a puzzle scheduled for the March issue of Fun for Kidz, which was supposed to be music-themed. When I noticed that they moved the music theme to January, I emailed them. My puzzle was, indeed, published in this month's issue. They said it would be sent out this week. Not sure why I wasn't notified earlier. Thanks for letting us know about the changes!

OK, so I got some information today about my article scheduled for Boys' Quest in October of 2016. It was some motor or cars theme because my article is about the difference in the Indianapolis 500 between the first one in 1911 and present time. I emailed them on 1/21 when I saw this thread.

They responded that they moved my article up to the February Boy's Quest, which is themed "Ready, Set, Go" and I should be receiving my complimentary copy soon, as well as the check.

Phew! I hope the rest of you who had articles under contract will get similar news soon!
