I was wondering if anyone has ever just photographed watercolor illustrations rather than scanning them and if you might have any tips for to accomplish the best results? Thank you!

I've photographed my artwork, I've also hired a professional art photographer. There are numerous articles online on how to photograph fine art paintings, which would be no different than a watercolor illustration. You will need a high end SLR camera, a tripod and professional full spectrum lighting for final image to be good enough quality for reproduction.

Thank you for the advise Wendy. I'll have to see what I can find online, sine I doubt in an area as rural as ours that I would be able to find a professional who specializes in photographing art.
