Three members of SCBWI Japan Translation Group have posted an interview with Japanese-to-English translator Cathy Hirano at the blog Cynsations.

Cathy Hirano has translated two winners of the Mildred L. Batchelder Award—The Friends by Kazumi Yumoto (Farrar, Straus and Giroux) and Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit by Nahoko Uehashi (Arthur A. Levine Books)—and her translations paved the way for Nahoko Uehashi to win the 2014 Hans Christian Andersen Award for Writing, sometimes dubbed the Nobel Prize for children's literature.

The Cynsations interview includes a giveaway of Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit, which in hardback is currently a collector's item. Four more days to enter!
