Hi everyone,
I really love the way Robert Munsch utilises repetition in his picture books. They are very catchy and engaging.
In particular, Purple, Green and Yellow, about a little girl who loves to draw with special colouring markers. Of course, these markers get her into trouble.
I also find Love You Forever a very touching story about a parent's love for their child.
Does anyone else like Robert Munsch?
Cheers,
Dominique

He really is pretty awesome. Repetition is a skill.

(Love You Forever: it ends up striking me as "off," and what others have called creepy.)

Thank you everyone for your posts. I will have a look at those books at some stage.
Also, I never thought of Love You Forever as creepy. But I can see where that is coming from.

For me the "creepy" in "love you forever" was in the scene where the grown man's mom sneaks into his and his wifes bedroom and starts cuddling/rocking him in his sleep. I couldn't help but imagine his wife, in her half awake state, muttering to him "Ralph she's in here again, you HAVE to get that lock fixed!!!":)
