Does anyone know what a mill court (also spelled Milcourt) is/was? 1840s Virginia law lingo?

Try a Virginia historical society, Dionna. I'm wondering if it's an abbreviation for "military court."

Hi,
I think a researcher will need to see the context to know for certain. I advise looking at these links and also contacting a local law librarian. Your county will have a law library (often housed in the courthouse) or you could email or phone a Law Library at a University. It is possibly Mills or Miller, but verify with a law librarian.
