There are two openings at Christine's table for the 9/9/2017 writers conference in Belgrade Lakes, Maine.  More info at agentseditorswriters.com Or call Cathy McKelway at 207-495-3583.

Christine Krones  is an editor with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers. She’s worked at HMH for nine years, editing everything from board books to YA, now with a focus on brands, activity books, high interest middle grade series, and other novelty books.

For picture books, HMH is always on the lookout for young, humorous stories with unforgettable kids at their core and middle grade and YA fiction with strong POVs, characters that engage and plots that make readers laugh or cry, but not stay awake at night from either fright or despair. Fiction and nonfiction for all ages featuring characters from diverse backgrounds are very much welcome.

Christine has a primary focus on middle grade books, but will review submissions from conference attendees to forward internally as necessary.

Please note: Though  Ruben Pfeffer and Ammi Joan Paquette's critique tables are full and each is closed to unsolicited submissions, attendees may query them after the conference. These two agents are in the top 20 sellers of kids books for 2016.

THIS IS NOT AN SCBWI SPONSORED EVENT -- BUT IT MAY BE OF INTEREST TO MEMBER.

Find out what Houghton Mifflin is looking for. Get a critique of your query letter and first pages before you submit. Meet agents/editors in a small setting.
