I'm still new to this 1st person writing:I have always found that separating myself from the character in narration rather than writing from their perspective. I'm just seeking an opinion. Which do you think children are more drawn to? In my WIP dragon is talking about observing children toast marshmallows around a camp fire etc. Part of me wants me to narrate her story and the other wants her to tell it herself.
Do you think children have a preference?

I don't think kids have a preference. Whatever voice suits the story best should be the one to use. Try them both.

 :thankyou
She has quite a strong opinion and I think readers might get a better perspective and hopefully a connection with her.
That's always my aim writing anyway.

Agree with V. Try both and see what works best.
