I totally forgot to do this on the day of my cover reveal, but I got to do the cover reveal for my book with George Ermos via Mr. Schu's blog: http://mrschureads.blogspot.com/2019/02/the-end-of-something-wonderful.html

And I changed my avatar to reflect it as well. I adore this cover.

Thank you so much! I'm in love with the Edward Gorey-ish font that the designer, Irene Vandervoort, came up with for the cover and the whole book. Someday I hope to write/talk about how serendipitous of a choice that is given that she and I have never spoken or met!

Wonderful interview and it is always so fascinating when an illustrator taps something from your own childhood without any prior knowledge. How great that you have a print out to hang on your wall. I will look for your book when it comes out. Having gone through several pet funerals, I have to admit that cover is striking, funny and poignant all at once. :congratulations

Wonderful cover, Stephanie--it's very eye-catching, and both humorous and resonant. Perfect!!  :star2 :books3

I loved your interview! This excerpt is so true:
"There’s a reason why we have funerals and memorials for humans. And it’s the same reason why it’s healing to have them for pets of all kinds: they help us process grief. They help us say goodbye. They help us move on with life, and when we do that, we give ourselves permission to feel Something Wonderful again."

My siblings and I mourned several pets over the years with proper funerals in the backyard or the nearby woods. It's important. :salute

Thank you thank you thank you!

This weird and funny little book has been the book of my heart since 2016 and it has an opening line that, very possibly, I will never be able to top: "First you need something dead."

Also, as a tip, I did not frame a paper cover from a book (it's not printed yet) but what I did do is send a hi-rez file of the cover to Framebridge. They took that file and offered me framing and matting options -- they sent me links showing what all the options would look like -- and when I made my decision, they mailed the entire thing to me. It was amazing and easy and quite affordable.

Wow, psychic sisters . . . I was planning to see if Staples could create a high rez print of the cover for me to frame, but Framebridge sounds much better. Thanks for the tip! :)
