Hi everyone,

Do you think it's okay for someone who's not an illustrator to "write" a wordless PB? If so, how would you write it? A paragraph with the general idea and actions taking place?

It is sometimes done. The concept would have to be very compelling and unique, I think.

I'd give a page-by-page description of what you imagine happening on each spread, not too detailed.

Maybe like this:

pp. 4-5
The cat comes around the corner, startling the dog.

pp. 6-7
The dog leaps up onto the top of the refrigerator.

pp. 8-9
The cat chases the dog around the kitchen and out the back door.

Yes, I've sold magazine stories with concept and crayon sketch. And Linda Ashman has a variety of resources on her website. Here's the example for Rain! http://lindaashman.com/books-written-by-linda-ashman/rain/  you have to scroll down for the examples she has posted for writers. She's wonderful.

These are a hard sell because it can be difficult to convey your vision without the art, but they do exist. You have great advice and resources above. Good luck.
