SCBWI's Blueboard - A Message & Chat Board

WMPitch tomorrow

Discussion started on

Hi all,

I've never done a Twitter pitch, but some other writers are telling me WMPitch is legitimate.

https://write-mentor.com/2020/04/19/wmpitch/

Does anyone know anything about them? I've done a bit of research and they look for real, but they did not disclose which agents or how many are participating. But they do list their mentors so perhaps these are the agents/editors that will judge the pitch contest (https://write-mentor.com/2020-mentors/).

Thought I'd ask since I could not find anything on the blue board about them.

Thanks for any insight.

It sounds like the pitch fest is just that, where writers can to a twitter pitch and any agents who want to check out the hash tag can.

I don't know anything else about the group, but it looks like the mentor list and program is separate.

It looks very much like a legit twitter/pitch to me. And as Deena says, any Agents or Editors (if Editors are encouraged in this one) can jump in and like "heart" a pitch. Then up to you to do your due diligence and make SURE the professional that has liked=requested you submit, is a real Agent an not a scam (as this group cautions at the end of the rules)
All the pit's are prime hunting ground for pay to play/scam "Agents" and "Publishers". So check them out carefully!
Other then that enjoy and good luck :)
