Hi! I am in conversation with a publishing house for my debut picture book. I want to hire a literary attorney to review the contract when that time comes. I am in San Diego, California. Does anyone have anyone they recommend, or have a directory I can use a resource to select someone?

Thank you!!

Melissa Nasson does contracts. I don't have personal experience with her.  https://www.literary-lawyer.com/
Also Melissa Edwards. https://www.melissaedwardsesq.com/ I don't have experience with her, either.

Good luck!

I also think if you join the Author's Guild, they provide an attorney to look over contracts.

Best of luck!!!!!

Congratulations! This is something i'd never considered before. I hope you'll share your experience/recommendations once you've made a decision!

Hi,

I found this book very insightful

Closing the Deal...on Your Terms: Agents, Contracts, and Other Considerations  written by Rusch (https://www.amazon.de/Closing-Deal-Your-Terms-Considerations/dp/156146774X)

this book is not an alternative but gives some information.

Good luck,
Nakisa
