O'win & the Moon

Synopsis

“My Moon!” cries O’win. “She’s disappearing!” When a lunar eclipse covers Moon, he calls upon Bear, Lion & Swan to help save her. And as the world is veiled in red, O’win soon finds that it’s up to him to save her – if he can get to her in time. O’ win and the Moon is a celestial adventure that blends mythology and wonder, wrapped in a spellbinding origin tale of how the Bear, Lion, Swan, and Orion constellations came to light the night sky. About Roseanne Baxter Frank

I began writing flash fiction over ten years ago and loved it. Because short form and picture books share so much in common from structure to word count, flash turned out to be perfect prep for writing picture books! My publishing credits include ALICE IN THE PALACE (formerly with Clear Fork Press), and several independently published books. O’WIN & THE MOON was first long-listed in Searchlight’s Best Children’s Illustrated Picture Book Contest and then acquired by Wonder House Books. I would be remiss if I didn’t say O’win wouldn’t be O’win if it weren’t for the talent of the illustrator, Rike Ablang. Currently, I am social media director for the SCBWI Long Island, NY chapter, and I am a freelance editor and writing consultant. I love teaching, so I host Elements of Picture Book Writing workshops for several libraries in my area.
