"Very rare picture book featuring Latino kiddos. Lovely on the eye. Rhymes to boot."—Eizabeth Bird, New York Times Public Library Collections Specialist
Tinybop: An energetic and
colorful book that teaches Latino culture and the Spanish language. Green
Is a Chile Pepper
is a delightful short book of rhyming poetry that teaches Latino culture and
the Spanish language to very young readers through color comparison. “Red is a ristra,
red is a spice, red is a salsa on top of rice.” As a kid, I was hungry
for more information about global customs and would have loved to have read any
number of author Roseanne Greenfield Thong’s titles, which include Round Is
Tortilla and Red Is a Dragon. Illustrator John
Parra’s energetic, textural style is reminiscent of colorful street murals and
complements Green Is a Chile Pepper’s celebratory attitude perfectly! Reviewed by: Tuesday
