The Buttermilk Biscuit Boy is a humorous Southern retelling of The Gingerbread Man that incorporates a little bit of witty southern slang. The buttermilk biscuit boy is born over an open campfire in a cast iron skillet. He begins his lively adventure by fleeing from the hungry jaws of two cowboys as well as numerous grumpy grazing animals. With each escape he croons, "Yeehaw, yippy-ki-yay, y'all can't snag me, I'm gonna go play!" As the end of his escape draws near, the little biscuit finds himself in a dilemma. He must choose between confronting his hungry pursuers or trusting the sly coyote who is offering to help. Readers will encounter a surprise ending when a new character is added to the mix at the end of the buttermilk biscuit boy's journey! Will he be able to dodge his foes and survive or will he be someone's tasty vittles?
