When her parents leave town for a trip, Marcela stays behind in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, with her tía (aunt), who owns a famous dance studio. Marcela has been taking dance classes there ever since she learned to walk, and now she is preparing for the annual Tango Dance Festival. But when her dance partner breaks his arm, Marcela rushes to find someone to replace him. Luckily she meets Mateo, a young fútbol (soccer) player who is willing to learn the fancy footwork to help Marcela, her aunt and the tango kids. But there are only two weeks left to practice the steps, and no one is sure if the kids will be able to pull off the show.
