This is an easy-to-read book written for
youngsters. Though the targeted readers
are preteens and teenagers, I believe that adult readers would also fall in
love with this heart-warming story.
Since it is based on a true story, the author has
made efforts in verifying the historical facts. Her choice of words vividly reconstructs the era in which the
story took place, which creates a new experience for the readers today.
We often see others achieving successes and
acquiring fame. However, the process of
their pursuits is hardly mentioned or written.
Most people do not enjoy reading sad stories. They like to see pleasant and joyous stories that suit their
dreams. “Martin and His Piglet”
inspires children to listen to and follow their hearts. It also subtly reminds the parents to
respect the interests of their children.
This book takes you back in time to see the era of
our grandparents and smell the fragrance of the fields. Through the author’s simple and fitting
words, one can feel the deep connections between people and the natural
friendship with animals.
