It's 1930s Los Angeles, and 11-year-old Sparky is a girl on the run, framed for murder. Everyone in downtown's old Bunker Hill knows the barefoot street kid who works for a bookie is guilty, except studious Bobby, who fancies he's her fiancée, and suave Marigold, who fancies he's her beau. Sparky fancies she's neither! A reclusive silent film vamp and her mysterious servant hide her in their mansion. Can she trust them? Or her bookie? City Hall, an angry horse, candy and a car chase are in the crazy noir mix too. As the price on her head gets bigger by the day, Sparky knows it's up to her to find the killer and why she got framed, before she ends up dangling from the hangman's rope.
