Come join the boy with the stubby antlers, as he explores and frolics through Trinidad and Tobago. He will befriend animals and ancient mythical creatures alike. Such friendships will be called to task as they try to save the Carnival season for everyone. Perhaps the clever, yet anxious boy will find his way in the modern world in the process.
The author's illustrations paint an immersive picture of the world he creates. We follow the boy with the stubby antler's through a colorful, endearing, and action packed journey. My four year old loves this book and I love reading it! -AZ
WOW! Adorable book. Now the illustrations were phenomenal. The story line was very enjoyable and fun. However, what I appreciate the most was your connection to the culture of Trinidad and Tobago. Through graphics, celebration but mostly the language. On POINT! Because I believe dialect is one thing that connects people to their origin, like food or religion, it was spot on for this book! -Tanya Watson-Butler
A beautifully illustrated tale giving true insight into the folklore of Trinidad and Tobago. O’Brien pays homage to his homeland in both text and image, capturing the beauty of his culture in colors, accents and style. A story about a young boy coming of age, exploring themes of growth and courage and what it means to work hard and work together for the common good!- Mansi Vasa, Educator
