Parking at the Hyatt:

Self Parking: $20 per day rate, $27 for overnight.

Valet Parking: $16 day rate, $22 for overnight.

Yes! Valet is cheaper! You can get a validation at the conference registration desk.

Conference Tuition:

Tuition includes all conference workshops & events (excluding consultations and showcases) from Friday – Sunday, July 31-August 2, 2015, including the Gala on Saturday night and the Golden Kite luncheon on Sunday. Tuition does not include the Post-Conference Intensives on Monday, August 3.

Early Registration (ends June 23rd at 5:00pm Pacific Time):

SCBWI Member Registration: $515

Non-member Registration: $615

Regular Registration (After June 23rd):

SCBWI Member Registration: $550

Non-member Registration: $650

Breakout workshops on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are first-come, first-serve only. You do not need to preregister.

Note: There is no part-time registration for this conference

The following events and opportunities are free for all conference attendees:

Pre-Conference Orientation:

On Friday morning we will hold a special orientation for first-time conference goers (or anyone wanting to learn how to get the most out of the conference).  Make sure you indicate that you are interested when you register for the conference so we can send you information about the orientation before the conference.

Friday Night PAL Book Sale:

SCBWI PAL members (if you are not currently a PAL member but believe you qualify please update your profile) who are full-time conference attendees are eligible to sell their books at the Friday night book sale and reception if they register and provide the required information by June 25th. Friday Night Peer Group Critiques:

All conference attendees are invited to participate in group critiques of their work from 7:30pm – 9:30pm on Friday night. If you are interested, bring 6-8 copies of a work you would like to be critiqued. Click here for Guidelines

Friday Night Socials:

Come meet other conference attendees at the Illustrator Social, International Social, Nonfiction Social and LGBTQ Social.

Saturday Night Poolside Party: Sparkle and Shine Party

Come mix, mingle and dance the night away at our Gala Party.  Dinner will be served and you will receive one free drink ticket to the full bar with your registration materials.   


Unwind and stretch your aching muscles each day with some conference yoga.


Conference attendees get 15% off food outlets at the hotel (alcohol not included) and 15% off at the hotel spa.

Refund Policy

Full refund minus $75 administrative fee until Thursday, June 11th except there will be no refund on manuscript consultation fees after May 21.

Thereafter, there is a 50% refund (except for manuscripts or portfolio consultations for which there are no refunds) until Friday, July 6th. 

After July 6, 2015, refunds will only be given in case of military service or a death in the family.
