Put your pants on – it’s PuBlished Kidlit Creator Day 2023! Otherwise known as PB&K Day (PuBlished Kidlit Creator Day), because time with you is our jam!
That’s right. After months of meeting up online, we are going to see each other FACE TO FACE! Sure, we will have to shower. And put on real clothes. And leave our pets behind. But I’m telling ya, this in person stuff is long overdue – being together will be WORTH IT!

School Visit Secrets From an Author and Teacher
Do you have a book out in the world and want to start doing school visits and events? Award-winning author and teacher, Shannon Anderson, will share her tips on how to find and book visits. She will give you ideas for your presentations and guide you on pricing, props, and posting!
Shannon Anderson
Shannon Anderson is a former teacher of 25 years and an award-winning author of over 18 traditionally published books. Her book, I LOVE STRAWBERRIES! received the Good Housekeeping Top Rated Picture Book award for 2022 and the 2023 National Book of the Year award from the Farm Bureau Foundation. Shannon is a former Indiana SCBWI Regional Advisor and a recent TEDx speaker. She has been featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America, PBS, and many other media outlets. Shannon has completed over 300 author visits and speaking events.

The key to writing a successful book is to make it unique—to tell a story in a way that only you can. But how do you mine your own life and experiences for stories while still keeping them fresh? Newbery Honor and Walter Award-winning author Rajani LaRocca talks about her author journey and uses specific examples from her books to inspire people to dig deep and write their own stories.

Rajani LaRocca was born in India, raised in Kentucky, and now lives in the Boston area, where she practices medicine and writes award-winning books for young readers, including the Newbery Honor winning middle grade novel in verse, Red, White, and Whole. She’s always been an omnivorous reader, and now she is an omnivorous writer of fiction and nonfiction, novels and picture books, prose and poetry. She finds inspiration in her family, her childhood, the natural world, math, science, and just about everywhere she looks.

In order to celebrate YOUR success, all published authors and illustrators are invited to SHOW & SELL one title during the MOTM conference on Saturday, November 4, 2023. To participate, all published members must register for the MOTM conference and fill out this form by Saturday, September 30th. Then, just bring your ONE book to the conference and turn it in at the registration table. All member books will be put on display and a QR code will be attached to each one for online purchase.
During the last thirty minutes of the conference, swing by the display, pick up your book, chat with attendees and snap a few selfies for social media. We can't wait to see you face to face!

PuBlished Kidlit (PB&K) Creator Day 2023 is $50/person and can be purchased as a standalone event OR as an add-on to the full conference price. You must be a published member to attend Published Kidlit Creator Day 2023.
