8 & Under: PAL Mentorship

What is it?

Included in the “full” 8 & Under registration fee, you will be matched with an Eastern PA published author (PAL) who will give you written feedback on a sample of your work BEFORE the day of the 8 & Under event. Then, ON THE DAY OF the event, after the webinars, you will have a 45-minute virtual one-on-one session via Zoom with your PAL. You’ll have the opportunity to ask follow-up questions about your critique, ask industry-related questions, discuss a query letter, get feedback on pitches, use it as a career consultation – the extended time is yours to use as you wish! We will do our best to match you with a PAL who is best suited to critique your work. Spaces are limited to the first 15 people who register for this wonderful opportunity!

NOTES: Because of the nature of the program, those who register for the “full” program must commit to attending LIVE on November 2nd. We have designed the program so that you will have the opportunity to review your written critique before your one-on-one session. Then, if you wish, you can incorporate what you learn from the webinars and your PAL mini mentorship to revise your manuscript before sending it to an agent or editor for a post-event faculty critique. The PAL critiques ARE included in the 8 & Under “full” registration fee, but the post-event agent/editor critiques are NOT. They are an optional add-on. All those who register for the “full” 8 & Under virtual event (webinars + PAL mini mentorship) are guaranteed the option of purchasing an agent/editor critique at the time of registration, but you must select a critique WHEN you register for 8 & Under 2024. For more information about post-event critiques, click HERE.
