“High concept” might be the most rage-inducing phrase writers hear while querying or putting their work on submission. It might also be the most misunderstood phrase in publishing today. This workshop, led by MG and YA author Kit Rosewater, includes a discussion on stakes, tropes, genre, and setting—all crucial elements in determining how to flip a pitch from quiet to high concept. Bring your latest project, in whatever stage of development, to the table as we work on creating a query or submission letter that will make agents and editors sit up and take notice. A recording of the webinar will be available for 30 days following the event.
