Kristy Nerstheimer has been an educator for 28 years. She has taught kindergarten, second, third, and fifth grade. Currently, she is working with students in grades K-6th as an interventionist. She has taught in the urban and suburban setting as well as overseas. Kristy holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She has written for various educational organizations including the Kansas Historical Society. Her first picture book biography, The Greatest Thing: A Story About Buck O’Neil, was published in 2021 and won the Kansas Notable Award. It is also part of the 4th grade curriculum in the Sarasota County Schools in Florida.
