Monthly Meeting: Leveling Up!! A goal setting time with Madeline Smoot

It's a new year, and that means new goals! This month we're going to spend our meeting tackling our goals for the coming year.

Bring pencil and paper because we're not leaving until we've answered the three questions you should always ask before setting a goal.

This month, Madeline will share her tips for designing, executing, and scheduling your goals – and although this presentation is geared towards writers (because that's what Madeline is), this style of goal setting is for illustrators too. Let's make this the year where we Level Up our goals at the Monthly Meeting on January 13.

Madeline Smoot is the former publisher of CBAY Books and, before that, the Editorial Director for Children’s Books at Blooming Tree Press. In other words, Madeline knows a lot about publishing and the process of bringing a book to market. She also publishes under the names Lori Bond and Elliot Addison. Nowadays, she spends most of her time writing, freelance editing and mentoring authors, and volunteering as the Assistant Regional Advisor for the Austin SCBWI.

The meeting starts at 10am. However, if you can not make it in person due to distance or health, we will do our best to stream it live on Zoom. Please register to get the zoom link in your My Events section of your SCBWI account. This meeting is open (and free!) to both paid Members and Registered Users.
