Shop Talk by Beth Bacon on Graphic Novels

Feb 29, 2024

Online event

Graphic novels are the fastest growing segment of children’s publishing today. Is it possible to shift into this genre if your experience is with chapter books, novels, or picture books? The answer is YES. Beth Bacon is an author who’s written picture books, middle grade, and graphic novels. She will talk about how to work in frames and dialog instead of chapters and paragraphs. She will review formatting options and expectations and answer your questions about breaking into graphic novels. This will be recorded and available to registered SCBWI members through 2024. FREE for Premium Members, $15 USD for Registered Users. Sponsored by Kansas-Missouri SCBWI!

Beth Bacon is an author for young readers. She gets her ideas from the many places she’s been, and the interesting people she meets. She has lived in New England, California, New York, Japan, the Pacific Northwest, and currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri. Beth volunteers for Open Hearts Big Dreams, an organization dedicated to improving literacy in Ethiopia. She also is a volunteer at her local Humane Society where she walks dogs.
