California North Central:
Contains a regular feature titled “Five Minutes With…” that profiles agents, editors, and other industry professionals.
Illinois:
This newsletter is chock-full of illustrating & writing tips, interviews of those who’ve successfully published, and A FLY ON THE WALL perspective highlighting SCBWI conferences and events.
Maryland/Delaware/West Virginia:
This blog regularly highlights writing and illustrating contests that don’t charge fees. It contains conversations with published authors and illustrators, insights from the pros, and monthly posts that stick to themes like revision, structure, illustration, and diversity.
Michigan:
This blog features profiles of illustrators, writers, and articles on a wide-range of subjects like voice, poetry, tracking submissions, graphic novels, and so much more.
Mid-Atlantic (D.C./Virginia):
A beautifully designed newsletter that includes interviews, tips regarding the writing craft, articles about illustrative technique, and reader-responses to interesting questions about the industry.
Missouri:
This newsletter is beautifully designed and full of articles on a wide-range of topics. It’s also one of the few SCBWI newsletters that still lists markets for children’s book writers and illustrators. For instance, in its latest Marketplace installment there’s a wish list from an editor of a new imprint and from a new agent.

An informative blog that is easy on the eye and meaty on content. Some of the popular tags include: Agents, Voice, Editors, A Professional Series, Art Directors, Character, and Craft.
