Kari Percival
I grew up in Maine, following streams through the woods in summer and sledding down snowy hills and following animal tracks in winter. I earned my BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and my Masters in Environmental Science and science teaching at Antioch New England Graduate School.
In 2019, at the NESCBWI Spring Conference, my entry in the Illustration Challenge earned the R. Michelson Emerging Artist Award and my portfolio earned the Peter Davis Emerging Artist Scholarship. In 2017, I was honored to win a spot in the New England SCBWI mentorship program with author/illustrator Ashley Wolff. I live in the Boston area, close enough to the T to get downtown, but also close enough to the Fells to hike the waterfall whenever necessary.
