Some things about me:
As a Virginia-born author/illustrator, the natural beauty, rich history and Appalachian storytelling traditions I grew up with launched a lifelong fascination with the natural world and a desire to share my own stories in pictures and words. I want to spark the same curiosity and wonder in my readers.
I graduated from VCUArts with a BFA in Communication Arts and Design way back in 1993 and worked as a graphic designer for much of my career. I’m also a member of the SCBWI and currently serve as the region’s Illustrator Coordinator.
I still live in Virginia with my family, two feline studio mates, and a couple guinea pigs. When I am not illustrating, writing, or being “mom”, you’ll probably find me walking in the woods or at the library. You can view my work at http://www.traylorillo.com.
