I was born in NYC – my vagabond shoes took me to Maine and DC via Oberlin, New Orleans and Haiti. I’ve been a storyteller ever since I told tales with my best friend Jane, when we were 8, playacting on the back steps of the Metropolitan Museum – for whoever was there, sitting in the sun.
In the elementary school Art Room where I taught for 25 years, I told stories to inspire projects – and sometimes even sang them. One first grader warned a visitor,” Watch out- we’ve got this singing Art Teacher. “After completing my MFA, I dragged the paint box through Europe, Morocco and Greece, always returning to Maine where my picture book collection spills over shelves and window seats. You’ll find me at VoicesintheGlen.org, telling stories in the Washington DC area. Next zoom is August 22.
