Illustrator Gallery - Kris Sexton
When I was a child, one of my favorite things to do was to take a few sheets of typing paper, fold and staple them and create an illustrated book about whatever had most recently caught my interest. Sometimes it was a story, and sometimes it was a book about different kinds of birds or bugs, a comic book, or a book of songs or games. So it’s not surprising that as a grownup I love having a role in making books of all sorts. I joined SCBWI fresh out of art school (ArtCenter College of Design), and it has been a lifeline for me ever since. I’m active with – and forever grateful to – my fantastic local SCBWI illustrator group (Midsouth – yay!). I like to make use of the unique advantages of traditional and digital media, and most of my work is a combination of both, using graphite (or other type of pencil), ink, watercolor, Adobe Photoshop, and/or Adobe Illustrator.
