Ambika Sambasivan is an illustrator-by-accident. She has published two books with Scholastic India and has two more in the works with Karadi Tales. She loves working with craft paper and creates distinctive, colorful collages. Her portfolio is also peppered with some pen-and-ink artwork and a dash of Copic coloring, but what’s art without some spice?
Ambika and her talented mum and children’s writer, Kala Sambasivan, are co-founders of an independent publishing venture, Yali Books. Their first book, ‘Bye, Bye, Motabhai!’ was launched in early-2013. When she is not sketching, she puts on her business hat and runs a consulting firm. She lives in Upstate New York with her husband and a tank full of fish.
