The IPOC Women’s Scholarship is awarded each winter to two Indigenous or People of Color who identify as women. This grant is generously sponsored by Matt de la Pena.
Deadline: Submissions are now open and will close on Friday, June 19, 2020.
Award: Two winners will receive the following:
–Full tuition to the 2020 SCBWI Summer Spectacular (July 31–August 4), including access to all Zoom Keynote Conversations, the Editors Panel, the Agents Panel, and Up-to-the-Minute Market Report.
–A free manuscript consultation with an agent or editor. This consultation will include two forms of written feedback: notes written directly on your manuscript and a detailed evaluation form which highlights your story’s strengths and weaknesses. You will also receive a ten-minute follow-up phone call with your reviewer to ask any additional questions.
This award is open to Indigenous and People of Color who identify as women. All applicants must be current SCBWI members.

4.) For writers: Up to 500 words of a creative writing sample or a 500 word description of the children’s literature project you want to work on. For illustrators: two images, under 900 pixels each, included as .jpg or .png attachments.
