• While recently spending a year in Provence, I finished my debut picture book, STERLING, BEST DOG EVER, forthcoming from FSG Books for Young Readers/Macmillan in spring 2018. My second book, JUNIPER’S LITTLE PROBLEM will follow in 2019, and in 2020 a third as-of-yet untitled book will hit the shelves, also from FSG.

I studied visual communication and animation at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and later at the Edinburgh College of Art. My first tale was not a book but a wordless animated short film, SITTING NEXT TO BERNIE (screened at festivals from Newfoundland to Brazil). With a degree in Media Arts I transitioned into character and product design before returning to my first love; illustrating children’s books (an art form that involves 5,368 less drawings than a six minute film).

I live and work on a small island in the Salish Sea with my wee family, and giant dog.
